Arty days

I have been creative as long as I can remember, but the last two years it is starting to become better and better. Some big artists see me as an artist to. And thats a thing it is hard to believe myself.
Once, a worldwide-famous designer was visiting me in my home in Amsterdam. His lamps are hanging everywhere around the world and are even used in big hollywood movies. When he visited me in my home in Amsterdam and saw my paintings he was a bit overwhelmed.

He said: "Wouw Wimmie (my nickname) did you make this?! Me: "Uh yes." He: "So you are an artist yourself, very cool! Why didn't you never tell me?" me: "I wouldn't put it that way.."  "Don't be so shy young lady! You really need to do something with it, it really inspires me."

But this is just an example of all the compliments I have had about my artwork. So now it its the time to try and give it a go. I am starting to send my work in for expo's next week and see what happens because when you never try, you never know.

H&M meets American Apparel

Their are times I love my job more or less. But I love it the most wenn a new season starts. Because all employees of the H&M get a 50% shoppingcard! And one of the things I bought of it is the orange top I am wearing in this pictures. This piece looks so vintage and has a beautiful colour, therefore it was love at first side.

The green skirt is from the American Apparel from a few years ago, it is kind of hard to wear. To find the right clothing combination with it. But I'm always happy when it works out. Also the store is one of my alltime favourites, simply because everything I ever bought I still wear. Even wenn it is a few years ago :). Everything stays pretty and kind of special.

O and I almost forgot to tell something about the necklace. This amazing eagle is from Jutka&Riska, a beautiful vintage store with great and not expensive juwelry. But I never go there to buy clothes, they made it to expensive :(.

But back to the complete look, is it a yay or nay for you?

Shopaholic part I

I had a really messed up week, bad news  all over, so I was really sad. And the best thing to do then is to give you self a treatment. A big shopping therapy. I know I'm a shopaholic but last week I bought like a whole new garderobe. I think I have like 13 kilo of new clothes... So I post it in two parts. Part one is just what I bought during the week and part two is about just one hole day of workung and shopping. It wil come up later.

Just a really fast post

I will try to do more fasty's, because I have so little time lately but I still want to share my fashion things with you dolls. In a few weeks School starts again and (how strange it seems) I should have more time. So normal post will come back in the near futute. For today a picture of one of my favorites looks lately.

A morning at the IJ-hallen

Yesterday morning I spended a few hours on the IJ-hallen in Amsterdam. Which seems to be the largest flea market in Europe. And I can tell you that it really is big! There is place for 750 market stalls. In the summer the most stalls are outside and in the winter you can find them inside. ( So the picture above is from a few months ago). I was there with Desiree, a good friend of mine, to find some second hand or vintage clothes. We were both looking for party stuff. She wanted shiny things and I hoped to find some male items for that night. I had a party were the men needed to go as women and the women as men. But more about that in my next post. For now I just want to show you the things I bought! Cause I bought more than only a shimmering men's waistcoat. Go see the following pictures curious people ;).

Vintage in Paris

A long time ago I wrote a blog post about vintageshopping in Parise on a site I don't use anymore. But a lot of friends are going to Paris this summer and ask me for some good advice. So I thought, why not say something about it here.

I have been a couple of times in Paris and I really love the city with al the historical buildings an other things you get to see. But I don't want to see the eiffeltower over and over again. So the last time I went to this amazing old city I  did some research in vintage stores. And I can tell you now, based by my own experience  that the stores with secondhand clothes are so worth it there. Some of those are really cheap and has some really nice clothes as well. There are secondhand places where you pay just 10 Euro for a nice dress of a couple of  very lovely shoes or anything else. It is really different than in the Netherlands.


My favorite vintage stores in Paris are Free’P'Star, Come on Eileen and Coiffeur Vintage

Free’P'Star has a a lot of different cheap clothes. They have dresses of the 70’s, lots of military stuff and many, many more in three different stores!  And also a little sister  named Fripes Star. Which is also not expensive, that’s what we like! You can find it somewhere on the Rue de la Verrerie across the Megasun. I didn't know the exact number of the shop anymore. But isn't it so that you will understand it better if I give you the directions by shops than by street names ;). It is for me the only way I can’t get lost.

CoiffeurVintage isn't a big store, but a lot of people seems to know how to find it. There just one fitting room and it was so busy that people where trying the clothes outside of the room. That was  also what I did and during that time, my own jacket was almost token by someone who wanted to try it on! I bought 2 dresses and 1 sweater in that store. 

Then there is one important shop left, which is Come on Eileen. In this vintage shop you will find vintage Chanel, Dior and Lanvin but I didn't buy anything in there.

 

You can see on the map underneath that the most vintage stores are really close to each other. Even if you don't have anything with secondhand it is a really good place to shop. Because there are other nice shops as well. 

PS 1:If you are in Paris and want to have breakfeast or lunch in a really lovely place, you just need to visit Rose Bakery.
